Chicken Cordon Bleu is a fabulous dish that is impressive enough to grace even the finest tables, yet takes only 20 minutes to prepare. It is a well-known Classic French Dish that has been adopted here in the US because of its elegant taste and presentation, and also because it is beyond simple to create.
This recipe is one of my all-time favorites for little-work and big-rewards,
and has earned a place in my house
as one of our tried and true
family favorites.
Chef's Note:
A less known fact about Chicken Cordon Bleu is how terrific it is as a make-ahead meal. The heavenly pillows of chicken do exceedingly well, individually wrapped in cling wrap and tucked away in the refrigerator for 2 or 3 days before baking. When needed, unwrap and gently brush with melted butter, and perhaps a sprinkle of spices, and then bake . Vola- ready to serve.
